Here’s our guide to just a handful of many Christmas events at Europe’s great castles and palaces in 2025!
Austria: Imperial elegance at Schönbrunn Palace
In Vienna, Schönbrunn Palace’s Christmas Market stands out as one of Europe’s most picturesque, set against the baroque facade of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Running from November 6, 2025, to January 6, 2026, the market features around 99 stalls offering arts, crafts, and culinary delights like gingerbread and roasted chestnuts. The market operates Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM, extending to 9:00 PM on weekends until December 23, then shifting to a New Year’s vibe. Proceeds support charitable causes, adding a feel-good element.
